Built on one question: why is that the answer?
ABCD IELTS started with a frustration anyone retaking the test will recognise: you can finish a thousand practice questions and still not know why you got them wrong. So we built the prep around the missing half — the words in the passage that prove each answer, and the trap that caught you.
Show the work, or it isn’t teaching.
A practice test that hands back 24 out of 40 has told you nothing you can act on. It names no habit, no pattern, no reason — which is why the same mistakes survive months of practice.
So we built the 4M evidence engine — a way of tagging every Reading answer by how it connects to the passage: Match (the same word), Map (reworded), Mean (implied), Mirror (reversed). Listening uses three of the four, because audio can’t reverse a statement the way a passage can. Writing and Speaking are marked criterion by criterion on the four IELTS criteria, with the fix written out beside what you wrote. No black-box score. No generic “work on your vocabulary.” Just the reason, every time.
And nothing here is a closed box. When the platform says the answer is B, it shows you the sentence that makes it B, the option built to look right, and where your answer went instead. You are meant to be able to check the reasoning — and to argue with it.
What we believe
Three principles behind every feature we ship.
Show the reason
A score with no explanation can’t be improved. Every answer carries its evidence with it — the exact words in the passage, not a verdict.
Honest about accuracy
Every machine score is labelled an estimate, and the report says in plain words how much to trust it.
Practice that compounds
Your mistakes become your next drills. The platform gets more personal the more you use it.
Marked on the four criteria, and calibrated to prove it.
Writing and Speaking are marked on the same four criteria the real test uses, with our own plainly-worded rubric — and the marking is calibrated against examiner-marked scripts before it is allowed to hand out a band. Every Reading and Listening rationale is checked against the passage before it ships. We name the method rather than personalities: you can read the reasoning on every answer and judge it yourself.
See the method for yourself.
